Welcome to Gealach Fola Acres

Starting a farm or homestead with basically zero previous experience, like we did, is not easy. I have found this to be especially true when livestock is involved. There is a huge learning curve for how to handle and house animals appropriately, what their nutrition should be, and how to take care of their medical needs. This learning curve essentially restarts for every animal that gets added to the farm — and while research is necessary and usually beneficial, sometimes there are so many sources saying opposing things (or nothing at all!) about the myriad aspects of farm life that it can be overwhelming or difficult to choose the right source.

We are constantly learning. Our journey so far has been short from a time perspective (coming up on one year shortly), but packed with an immense amount of experience with so many different animals — from peacocks to alpaca. I know that we will continue to transform ourselves and our farm, as transformation, growth, and reduction are imperative and cyclical phases in life. I want to share what we have learned with others to help them achieve their homestead goals without them having to make the same mistakes or endure the same hardships we have along the way. I also want to share things that we have decades of experience in: recipes for food, soap, perfume and generally how to build and make things that are useful or beautiful or both.

I plan on sharing these things here, on this blog, and also on our farm Youtube channel. I hope that you can find value in the knowledge we share, and in being a part of our journey.

It’s appropriate time to make some plans for the future
and it is time to be happy. I’ve read this post and
if I could I desire to suggest you few interesting
things or advice. Perhaps you can write next articles referring
to this article. I want to read even more things about it!
