Farm to table is all about providing people with direct access to locally produced food with the least amount of transport and steps in the middle possible. This is something we are strongly committed to.

We have a history of selling food to various local restaurants in Searsport and to the co-op in Belfast. Most of our sales, however, have been to individuals who want to cook nutritious meals for their families.

Here are some of our top reasons for committing to farm to table:

  • Your food will be more fresh. Fresher food has more nutritional value and will keep longer — depending on the season and farm, you can even get eggs that were layed the same day, versus up to two months before you bought them like normal grocery store eggs.
  • It’s better for your community. When you support a local farmer, or local restaurants and grocers that buy directly from farms regularly, you are keeping more money in your own community — This helps the whole community to prosper, since the funds will likely be reinvested into other local businesses or service providers. It also helps develop meaningful relationships which help create a more resilient community where people stick together and help each other.
  • It’s better for the environment. By not travelling far distances, the carbon footprint and greenhouse gas emissions are reduced. It also can help preserve endangered livestock species, since many small farmers commit to breed conservancy as part of their practices — especially here in Maine.

Anyone is welcome to reach out to us to see what we have available for the season, to see what we are planning next, or even just to talk more about farming in general.

We’d love to hear from you!
